MISSION

Theology can keep pace with the changing world and advances in other disciplines. That is the aim of the Center of Theological Inquiry in Princeton set by our founder, James McCord, pursued by our scholars and sustained by our supporters.

The Center is an independent, ecumenical institution, fostering fresh thinking on the truth of God's love and concern for the world. Our program is for visiting scholars who are furthering the Center's aim in any field of advanced inquiry. Our scholarly community is dedicated to theological research across disciplinary lines.

The interdisciplinary group of scholars united at the Center benefit from the free exchange of ideas among themselves and the vast resources within the larger intellectual community at Princeton. Our hope is that the ideas generated here will have a broad influence, setting off creative responses elsewhere, in the service of God and for the benefit of church, culture and creation.
