Fred R. Anderson

Welcome to CTI, a place designed to nurture, stimulate and use the mind to generate fresh thinking about what it means to belong to the God revealed in Jesus Christ. As a theological student I remember listening to James I. McCord’s dream of a center of theological inquiry where theologians from many disciplines could converse with scientists, historians, and other intellectual leaders to think afresh about life’s most important questions. For McCord, such a place was about as close to heaven on earth as he could envision.

What a privilege it is to now share in the stewardship of the place he created, one so critical to the church today. As a pastor serving intellectually curious people from all walks of life, I depend upon the work that emerges from the studies and conversations that take place at CTI. It feeds and equips me to step into the pulpit and classroom better prepared to engage my people in faith seeking to better understand itself in our twenty-first century world.
