CONGRESSMEN IN CTI CONVERSATIONS

Congressman Rush Holt and Congressman David Price took part in the 2009 Luce Hall Conversations at CTI in April. The topic for this year's conversations between research scholars and public leaders was theology and the foundations of international law, a question currently being explored in an advanced research inquiry by the Center.  The discussions with CTI's distinguished guests were led by three senior scholars in the Center's working group on this issue - Jeremy Waldron, New York University,  Robin Lovin, Southern Methodist University, and Mary Ellen O'Connell, University of Notre Dame, who considered the contribution of the Christian theological tradition to the renewal of international law. They were joined by Anver Emon from the University of Toronto, who reflected on the relationship between Islamic law and international law.
