Race & Theology: A Symposium with J. Kameron Carter

3/5/2010

On Thursday afternoon, March 25th, the Center of Theological Inquiry and the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University co-sponsored a symposium at CTI on Race: A Theological Account, the groundbreaking book by Dr. J. Kameron Carter of Duke Divinity School. A distinguished panel of scholars, including Dr. Peter Paris (Princeton Theological Seminary), Dr. Eddie Glaude (Princeton University), Dr. Yolanda Pierce (Princeton Theological Seminary, pictured with Dr. Carter above), and Dr. Robin Lovin (Southern Methodist University and CTI Senior Member in Residence) engaged Dr. Carter in a lively discussion of a broad range of questions raised by his book. Following the panel discussion, Dr. Carter then fielded questions from the audience. We want to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Carter, all of the panelists, the Center for African American Studies, and the members of the audience from the Princeton academic community who made this event a huge success.
