Membership Application
Name: Please use your full legal name exactly as it appears on your passport.
Preferred Mailing Address: Please be advised that notification on the result of your application may be mailed out when classes are not in session.
Period for which Membership is Requested: While applications for the entire academic year, September 1 - May 31, are preferred, applications are also considered for shorter periods, normally from September 1 - December 31 and January 1 - May 31. For international applicants: Please be assured that we do take differences in academic calendar into account within this nine-month period.
Application for a CTI Fellowship: After reviewing the requirements for the William H. Scheide and J. Houston Witherspoon Fellowships (see Frequently Asked Questions), please check one (not both) of the boxes if you wish to apply.
Personal Information: Please use your accompanying spouse’s and accompanying children’s full legal name exactly as it appears on their passports.
Updated Curriculum Vitae
In addition to your current Title and Institutional Affiliation, Professional History, and Education, please list your most significant publications. Please limit your curriculum vitae to five single-sided pages.
Research Proposal and Abstract
All applicants should begin their proposal with a 150-word abstract summarizing their proposed research. The abstract should be the first page of the proposal and include your name and title of the proposal. The body of the proposal should clearly present the issue addressed by your intended research, why it is significant, the distinctive character of the argument advanced, and the methodology employed. Please limit your abstract and proposal to four double-spaced pages with 12-point typeface and one inch margins.
Statement about your Participation in the Colloquium
How would you and your proposed research benefit from and contribute to the Center’s interdisciplinary Colloquium on theological questions? Please limit your answer to 500 words.

Three Letters of Reference
For your application to be considered, three completed letters of reference must also be submitted to the Center by the November 15 deadline. Please choose three scholars in your field who know you and your work and are able to assess the merits of your research proposal and your interest in the interdisciplinary Colloquium. Please send each referee a copy of your Research Proposal and Abstract and the link to Reference Form on the Required Forms subpage.
